LAS VEGAS – Dick Dunham, Stephenson Wholesale Company, was installed as AWMA’s new chairman for 2008 at the AWMA REAL DEAL EXPO, which opened in Las Vegas yesterday. Dunham succeeds Jode Bunce, Eby-Brown Company, who led the association as chairman during 2007.
“We had a tremendous year and Jode did a great job,” Dunham told the EXPO’s opening session. “I have to continue to build and keep this organization growing.”
Looking ahead for this year, Dunham said AWMA will be taking these steps:
- Launch a new executive strategy program at the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, June 2-4. For details, please click HERE.
- Publish a new research report on distributor challenges in Canada and how they relate to AWMA members in the U.S. This report has been completed and will be distributed shortly.
- Conduct a new study on candy profitability in the convenience distribution industry in partnership with the National Confectioners Association and the National Association of Convenience Stores.
- Increase efforts to help members who want to build their foodservice capabilities, including education, research, and a foodservice expo.
- Develop a new project with the Profit Planning Group to develop an easy-to-use model to examine customer profit.
